The emotional attachment the authors have with this article is quite small, they merely state facts. They shows that they cares about the issue by going in so much depth of what this means for the future of the health care department and what is in store for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) but they do not share much of their opinion. The words, statements, and quotes used creates a factual and informative tone. Armour and Hackman mainly appeal to logos by informing their readers of the situation and what it means for the future of the United States, " Price... reimbursed the government more than $50,000 for his seat on chartered flights" and "Democrats... will fight any nominee they fight unacceptable". They are also able to appeal to ethos by using credible sources, such as President Donald Trump and other employees within the White House. The purpose of this article is to inform about Tom Price's resignation as well as to keep readers up to date about the current candidates running to fill his potion of Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), "...potential candidates for the post include ...Sen. Rick Santorum, ...Gov, Bobby Jindal, Veteran Affairs Secretary David Shulkin and John Fleming...". The authors organize their arguments chronologically, they begin by explaining how Tom Price got elected for HHS and end by informing readers of the future plans for the HHS and ACA. The argument is consistent throughout the whole article contributing to their explanation of Price's "imminent" resignation and future plans for the government. The speaker of this article are American citizens who did not want Price elected in the first place and the citizens who voted for him but are now disappointed due to his actions. The occasion of this article is resignation of Tom Price due to him using tax payer dollars for his own travel purposes. The audience that Armour and Hackman are appealing to are United States citizens and others looking to be informed about current events. The purpose of this article is to insure readers are well-informed of current events. The subject of this article is the resignation of Tom Price and the future plans of the HHS and ACA.
